Du Bois has ‘formula’ for primary schools’ netball
Without being exact and divulging much, coach of the Du Bois Government Schoolâs netball team Santa Cruickshank says that she has the âformulaâ to win the title.
Du Bois, also known as the Buccament Government, marched to their fourth lien on the competition last Friday, outlasting Owia Government 16-13 in the final played at the Kingstown Netball Centre.{{more}}
When the two met in 2015, Du Bois won 15-10 in the semi-finals.
And, last Friday, it was another moment of joy as the Du Bois players shouted âFour in a rowâ, as they repelled a spirited Owia team that faltered as the match wore on.
In assessing her teamâs success, Cruickshank praised her players for their efforts, noting that they did not practise as hard as in previous years.
She cited disruptions to school activities because of the weather as the reason for her team not being able to practise intensely.
Cruickshank said all except one of the players are in Grade Six, hence they also had to juggle the limited practice time with preparations for the Caribbean Primary Exit Assessment (CPEA).
A confident Cruickshank believes that once the âformulaâ is applied, her charges can make it five straight titles in 2017.
The Du Bois Government School are also the 2016 inter-primary athletics champions.(RT)
