Two new faces on SVGCA Inc executive
National Under-19 cricket teamâs assistant coach Roxell John and head of the SVG senior selection panel Roland Wilkinson are the two new faces on the executive of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association Inc.(SVGCA).{{more}}
John and Wilkinson were elected as the new committee members at the staging of the SVGCAâs Annual General Meeting last Saturday at the Presidentâs Suite at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.
They join two previous committee members â Deighton Butler and Samantha Lynch â in making up the lot.
The other posts did not require affiliates to utilize the ballot system, as they were all re-installed unopposed.
Heading the list was president Kishore Shallow, while Miles Bascombe got elevated from a committee member in the last executive, to the position of first vice-president. Bascombe replaced Elson Crick, who did not stand for re-election.
Likewise, Denis Byam remained as the SVGCA Incâs second vice-president and long-standing secretary Samuel Holder gains another two years as a national cricket administrator.
Joining in being re-elected unopposed were treasurer Jenry Ollivierre and assistant secretary Cleton Burnett.
Romel Currency, who was a committee member on the last executive, also did not seek re-election.
All except the new faces have been at the helm of the sportâs national administrative framework since May, 24, 2014.
They were voted in, following a successful passage of a no-confidence motion against then president Julian Jack, which led to the dissolution of the executive then.
And, when the SVGCA held its AGM in December, 2014, the entire executive was given a two-year mandate by affiliates.(RT)
