First to lift a piece of silverware were Positive Youths Of Layou (PYOLA), who outdid RSVG Police to win the Hairoun Beer Knockout title.
It was not too long after referee Moeth Gaymes had blown the whistle that PYOLA and supporters were in glee, as Dustin Miller registered his teamâs first item in the second minute.
Both teams battled it out, with neither altering the score line.
PYOLA added their second goal through Lemus Christopher in the 39th minute, which sealed the match 2-0 in favour of the Layou outfit, who then resorted to celebrating the title.
The order then shifted to the league titles on Sunday.
Getting the ball rolling were home team Adare Two and North Leeward Predators, as the two squared off in the Digicel/ Norell Hull Under-17 final.
Agony struck Adare Two as early as the first match, as they scored an own goal, which North Leeward Predators enjoyed until the sound of the final whistle.
The North Leeward supporters who were present then harboured another title, as Sharpes United of Chateaubelair took on Keartons United in the Bank of SVG senior league final.
Neither team was able to break the deadlock, despite creating a few chances, as the match ended in a stalemate 0-0. The next route was kicks from the penalty spot.
That too proved nerve-racking, but Kearons United prevailed 4-2, much to the delight of their mass home support.
Following the finals, prizes and trophies won in the competition were distributed to their recipients.(RT)
