Stubbs Football Competition standouts get compensated

Those individuals and teams which outshone their opponents in the 2016 South East Development Inc Stubbs Inter-Community Football Competition, were last Sunday compensated with trophies, cash prizes and balls, at the closing and presentation ceremony at the Stubbs Playing Field.{{more}}

Individual Awards

Brighton Star Blocks’ Jafel Antoine was voted the Player of the Final and taking the award for the competition’s Best Goalkeeper was Calliaqua’s Kizani Haynes.

The award for Best Defender was pouched by Kishorn Durham of Volcanoes and Shaquean Millington of Calliaqua, the Best Midfielder. Copping the Top Goal-scorer award was Diamond’s Curlan Joseph, as he punched in 10 goals.

Meanwhile, the recipients of the MVP for each of the competing teams were Romano Martin – Star Blocks; Omar Cupid – Calliaqua; Brad Richards – Groove Street Ballers; Kishorn Durham – Volcanoes; Kendal Joseph – Diamond; Kenron Osment – Nature Boys; and Dorian Dallaway – Walvaroo City.

Completing the list of awardees were Hosni Chandler – Tactikal Ballers; Calvert Richards – Prospect; Lorson Bonadie – NP Fair Hall; Marcus Dennie – Ghetto Stars; Derron Rouse – Hype Life Ballers; Dwayne Richards – Ball Rollers; and Osborne Alexander – Carapan.

Team awards

Last year’s winner, Diamond, did not end empty-handed, as they collected the award for the best attacking team, with Hairoun Groove Street Ballers at the opposite, getting the Best Defensive Team award.

And, Walvaroo City was adjudged the Most Disciplined Team.
