Sean Stanley takes World Road Tennis Championships foreign male title

Vincentian Sean Stanley copped the male foreign players’ category of the City of Bridgetown Credit Union World Road Tennis Championships, which concluded in Barbados on Sunday night.{{more}}

In taking the title and the BDS$2,500 cash prize, Stanley defeated Joshua Meza in the final of the championships, which was hosted at the Springer Memorial Secondary School.

Stanley is the co-ordinator of the sport here and a former national table tennis singles champion. But Samantha Lynch had to settle for the runner-up spot on the female side of the foreign players’ segment, second to Shereen Peterson of Canada. Lynch earned herself BDS$1,000.

St Vincent and the Grenadines was also represented by Ted Roberts Jr, who competed in the male Under-18 bracket. Director of Physical Education and Sports Nelson Hillocks accompanied the team as manager.(RT)
