TBPO Softball Cricket Competition revving
Four matches were contested in the National Lotteries Authority Top Belair Progressive Organizationâs Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition last weekend at the Dauphine Playing Field.{{more}}
On Saturday, Riley Snipers did not exert much to take out Computec Older Boys by eight wickets.
Older Boys managed 80 for 4 in 15 overs, as the overs were reduced. Ashford Wood top scored with 28, while Emmanuel Baptiste took 2 for 21, bowling for Snipers.
In reply, Snipers rushed to 82 for 1 in 7.5 overs; Keson Williams was 41 not out and Crisston Williams 28, not out.
Saturdayâs other fixture was easy does it for defending champions Gairyâs Construction Simple Boyz, who won by default from Nar Fren Dem.
In Sundayâs matches, trumping were CGM Gallagher Novice over Sunset Strikers and Dipcon Road Warriors over Carrirere Blazers.
Noviceâs win by eight wickets was attained after Sunset Strikers were blown away for 79 in 19.5 overs. Norlan Williams was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4 for 12.
Irvin Williams then made 29 and Roderick John, 24, as Novice got to 83 for 2 in a mere 5.2 overs.
And, Warriors crushed Carriere Blazers by five wickets.
Carriere Blazers batted first and were sent packing for 58 in 19.4 overs, as Everson Thomas achieved a hat-trick, ending with 3 for 7.
Dipcon Road Warriors reached 59 for 5 in 5.4 overs, as Everson Thomas completed a good all- round effort with a top score of 32. In between, Xavier Edwards got 2 for 14, bowling for Carriere Blazers.
