The SVGCA Inc had earlier sent out a notice inviting persons to apply for the post with the closing date for applications being yesterday, October 10.
Applicants must have possessed at least a level two coaching qualification with at least 10 years coaching experience.
Additionally, a strong cricketing background, with experience at the national, regional and international scene would be considered a plus.
President of the SVGCA Inc. Kishore Shallow confirmed to SEARCHLIGHT that they have received some applications for the post.
Explaining the need for such an officer, Shallow reasoned, âEach of the Windward Islands has a development officer ⦠Irvin Warrican was the last to serve in the position in St Vincent and the Grenadines, a role that he coupled with the territorial development officer.â
Shallow further explained, âCurrently, there is no appointment for the territorial development officerâs post in the Windward Islands, notwithstanding, rather than waiting on this delayed appointment, the local executive has decided to make an aggressive move to get the development officerâs post filled, and implement our programme, which is guided by our Cricket Development Committee.â
The SVGCA Inc president related that the appointment of a development officer for St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ cricket will fit in with the initiatives his organization plans to roll out soon.
Shallow noted that when appointed, the development officer can be part-time, once that person is flexible enough to make himself/herself available to implement the programme of the territorial development officer.
According to the SVGCA, the development officer will have the responsibility to coordinate and supervise all activities related to the various developmental programmes, under the supervision of the executive of the SVGCA Inc.(RT)
