Sion Hill Tallawahs win big in Greiggs Softball Cricket
Sion Hill Tallawahs registered a commanding 153-run win over Rasfarco last Sunday at the Greiggs Central Playing Field, to keep their challenge going in the St Vincent Brewery, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}
Tallawahs, on the strength of Asroy Baptisteâs 64 and Kerwin Williams 55, powered to 229 all out in 19.4 overs.
Bowling for Rasfarco, Subartho Joseph took 2/29 and Noble Rawlins 2/38.
Rasfarcoâs batting was unable to negotiate the bowling of Alex Roberts 2/6 and Shawn Williams 2/23, was dismantled for 76 in 17.2 overs.
Also on Sunday, CGM Gallagher Novice defeated Country Meets Town Out Ah Trouble Sunday.
Batting first, Novice racked up 148 for 6. Renrick Williams struck 47 and Zane Edwards 45.
Out Ah Troubleâs most successful bowler was Jolion Danzell, who took 2/5, but their run chase ended at 131 for 7 from their 20 overs.
Javid Harry was Out Ah Troubleâs top scorer with 32, while Nolan Williams took 2/37 and Amreal Bobb â 2/38, bowling for Novice.
Sundayâs other scheduled match, which should have featured Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem and Warriors, will be reset, according to organizers of the competition.
Meanwhile, Saturdayâs matches resulted in wins for Fancy and Street Fighters.
Fancy came away six-wicket winners from 2011 champions of the competition â RSVG Police.
Taking first strike, RSVG Police packed it in at 68 all out in 14.3 overs, as Kenroy Stay picked off 4/21 and Kanhi Mack 3/9.
Fancy responded with 74 for 4 in 11.1 overs; Shane Edwards scored 17, while Osrick James had 2/29, in a losing cause for RSVG Police.
And, Street Fighters derailed Bank of SVG All Starz seven runs, in a low scoring match.
Street Fighters mustered 46 all out in 14.3 overs. Avino Barker was the lead batsman with 22.
Kelly Murray was the most successful bowler, taking 3/7.
All Starz though could not respond adequately, dismissed for 39 in 8.1 overs. Their batting was unravelled by the bowling efforts of Kimson Dalzell 4/12 and Avino Barker 4/14.(RT)
