Teams craft wins in Greiggs Softball Cricket
Street Fighters, Warriors, Caesar Defenders, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem and Owia Young Strikers won their matches last weekend in the Hairoun Greiggs Menâs Twenty/20 Softball Competition at the Greiggs Playing Field.{{more}}
Street Fighters defeated Country Meets Trouble Family by one wicket.
Out Ah Trouble Family got 86 off 17.1 overs â Osni Billingy made 27. Twin brothers Kenson Dalzell and Kimson Dalzell took 3 for 10 and 2 for 13, respectively.
Street Fighters replied with 87 for 9 in 14.3 overs. Julien Danzell picked up 4 for 19 and Sunil James, 2 for15.
Meanwhile, Warriors won from Rasfarco Nar Fren Dem by one wicket in a match reduced to 17 overs because of a late start.
Rasfarco Nar Fren Dem made 75 off 16.2 overs, as Danwayne Baptiste took 3 for 17 and Junan Baptiste, 2 for 14.
Warriors reached 76 for 4 in 7.1 overs; Manley Duncan top scored with 30.
Caesar Defenders beat Dr Thomas Injectors by two runs in a match which was also reduced to 17 overs.
Caesar Defenders tallied 97 off 16.4 overs, of which Kazim Haywood made 30. Bowling for Injectors, Wendell Corridon had 2 for 19 and Javon Nero, 2 for 25.
Dr Thomas Injectors limped to 95 for 9 in their 17 overs with Javan Nero scoring 19. Kazim Haywood, 3 for 31 and Kaman Jackson, 2 for17, were the chief wicket takers for Caesarâs Defenders.
Also, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem got past Nice Radio Clinchers by five wickets.
Nice Radio Clinchers scored 116 in 18.3 overs, in which Oheyon Toby hit a top score of 58.
Damron Prince pocketed 5 for10 and Kenford Collins, 3 for 8, bowling for Nar Fren Dem, who responded with 120 for 5 in 17.1 overs.
Kenford Collins was the lead batsman with 44, while Marlon Farrell took 3 for 22.
And, Owia Young Strikers beat Fancy by 93 runs. Owia Young Strikers posted 158 for 8 off their 20 overs.
Rolando Wright stroked 31. Kanhi Mack took 2 for 24 and Shay Edwards, 2 for 36.
Wright then snared 3 for 2 and Davidson Lavia, 3 for 13, as Fancy fell for 62 in 16.2 overs. Charles Stay top scored with 20, as Owia Young Strikers won the derby of the North Windward teams.
