SV United building from the bottom
Spring Village of the Georgetown football outfit, known as SV United, is slowly building a name in the local football arena.
A force in the senior divisions of the North East, Biabou and Diamond Village leagues, SV United is ensuring continuity through their Under-13 and Under-17 units.{{more}}
Paving the way for this progression was SV Unitedâs capture of the Under-13 division of the National Lotteries Authority/Flow/ Kirk Da Silva Marriaqua League, which concluded August 28, at the Cane End Playing Field.
SV United clobbered Greiggs FC 8-1 on the day, to lift the title.
And, when it got to the individual awards, SV United also was on top, taking three of the four which were at stake.
Emi Balcombe was adjudged the Best Defender; Shemron Phillips â Best Midfielder and Jermain Jarvis â Best Goalkeeper, were the awards locked in by SV United.
The other award presented at the closing ceremony was grasped by Greiggs FCâs Racheem Delpesche, who took the ward for Most Goals. Delpesche scored a total of 14 goals.
Responsible for keeping the SV United clan together is first vice-president of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation Otashie Spring.
An advocate for more levelling of the playing field in national representation, Spring would like to see more teams and players emerge from the âcountryâ and be greater recognized.
SV United, Greiggs and Richland Park Pride and Joy are the three teams from the Windward side of the island which are in the Premiership of the National Club Championships.(RT)
