Teams get off the mark in Greiggs Cricket Competition
There were wins for Bruce Law Chambers Inc Smashers, Owia Young Strikers, Snipers Reload and Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem in the latest round of matches in the Hairoun Brewery Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem Greiggs 20/20 Softball Cricket competition, taking place at the Greiggs Central Playing Field.{{more}}
In making a successful start to this yearâs edition, Smashers recorded a two-wicket win over the powerful Combine Sixerz.
Batting first, Combine Sixerz were 104 all out in 13.3 overs. Wesrick Straugh made 28. St Clair Dickson took 3/25 and Chavis Peters 3/28. Smashers then made 105 for 8 in 17.3 overs, JR Ashton made 23; Asif Hooper took 3/9.
Also on Saturday, Owia Young Strikers beat Caesar Defenders by seven wickets. Defenders posted 113 all out in their 20 overs, as Enrico Danzel top scored with 37. Dill Clarke took 3/11.
In their successful run chase, Owia Young Strikers got to 119 for 3 in 17 overs; Dill Clarke made 59. In Sundayâs first match, Snipers Reload outdid Log Enterprise Supreme Strikers by 57 runs. Snipers Reloaded scored 164 in 18.1 overs. Kesan Williams got 43. Tydel Richards took 3/27. Supreme Strikers were 107 all out in 16 overs. Tydel Richards made 25. Raymond Sayers took 3/23.
And, Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem stopped their fraternal team Rasfarco Nar Fren Dem by 39 runs. Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem batted first and made 151 all out in 19.4 overs. Ceon Phillips got 38. Sadeke Rawlins took 4/30 and Ajit Duncan 3/32. Rasfarco Nar Fren Dem was stifled for 113 for 5 from their 20 overs.
Keon Joseph struck 46, as Sachin James took 2/17 and Damron Prince â 2/25, bowling for Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem.(RT)
