Doyle, who last year, at one stage, had the highest world ranking for any junior player in the Caribbean, exits the junior stage after nine years of competition.

He leaves behind a host of titles, earned at different stages of his junior career. Locally, Doyle has copped numerous titles at various age groups in the national junior tournaments and at the OECS level, he has 10 under his belt.

His first sub-regional title came in 2008 when he won the Under-11 category and went on to take the Under-13 in 2009 and repeated the U-13 in 2010. In 2011 and 2012, Doyle topped the boys’ Under-15 and in 2013 won both the Under–19 and Under-19 titles.

Doyle retained the Under-17 OECS title in 2014 and regained the Under-19 in 2015 and ended his stint with another victory at his final outing this year.

At the Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) junior championships, Doyle was Under-13 champion in 2010, the Under-15 plate winner in 2011 and runner –up in the Under-15 in 2012.

Doyle’s sojourn in junior squash also saw him placing second at junior CASA in the Under-17 division in 2014 and finishing his CASA outing with another runner-up spot in the Under-19, when the Caribbean Championships were staged in the Cayman Islands last month.

Doyle spread his success internationally by taking the plate title of the Commonwealth Youth Games, which were staged in Samoa in 2015.

And, even as a junior player, Doyle ventured out at national senior tournaments, senior OECS, senior CASA and the Commonwealth Games, as he prepared for the inevitable of eventually becoming a senior competitor.

Doyle was a member of the OECS team which participated in the senior CASA championships, which ended in Trinidad and Tobago last weekend. (RT)
