Half holiday for civil servants for return leg of World Cup Football

Friday, September 2 has been designated a half holiday for civil servants, and the private sector is being asked to give consideration to doing the same.{{more}}

The government has granted the time off to civil servants so that they can attend the final return leg of the World Cup football match between St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) and the United States.

The match, which is being played at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex will begin at 3:30 p.m.

Admission for the game is $40 for the Frank Thomas, Mike Findlay and P.H. Viera Pavilions, and $20 for the Double Decker Stand. Official ticket box offices are at Singer and the Music Center in Kingstown, Aycees in Calliaqua, Mikey James in Mespo, Ferdie’s in Georgetown and Marty’s Sports Bar in Pembroke. Tickets can also be purchased from the SVG Football Federation office in Kingstown. Tickets are expected to be on sale from Monday, August 22.

Another return leg game, that between SVG Guatemala will be played in Guatemala on September 6.
