BOSVG All Starz regain East Kingstown Softball Cricket title
Bank of SVG All Starz have regained the East Kingstown Sports Association 20/20 Softball Cricket title.
Winners in 2014, All Stars last Sunday shone over Dr Thomas Injectors by 19 runs at the Grammar School Playing Field.
All Starz had posted 128 for 3 in their 20 overs, batting first. Then All Starzâ bowling arsenal restricted Dr Thomas Injectors to 109 for 7 off their 20.{{more}}
In All Starzâ innings, Ron Adams stroked 38 and Desron Maloney â 36.
Responding, Dr Thomas Injectors were going along merrily with Damion Allen at the crease, but his dismissal for 53, put the screws on his teamâs run chase.
Maloney was the pick of All Starzâ bowling, picking off 3 for 20 and Glenroy Dasent took 2 for 17.
All Starz had made it to Sundayâs final, following their win the previous day, Saturday, defeating Rogerâs Photo Studio Fya One by 81 runs.
Desron Maloney belted five sixes in his knock of 53 and Ron Adams contributed 35 in All Starzâ posting of 140 for 7 from 20 overs.
Bowling for Fya One, Cornelius Emmons had 2 for 17 and Jerado Jardine â 2 for 31.
Fya Oneâs batting never sparked, stymied for 59 for 8, from their corresponding 20 overs.
Taking charge of the bowling proceedings was Dwayne Williams, who grabbed 5 for 11.
All Starz gained EC$ 600 for winning the title; second placed Dr Thomas Injectors received $400 and Fya One got $150.
Awards
Taking the award for Most Disciplined Player was Smart Strikersâ Kendall Wiseman, with Strikers Reload â the Most Disciplined Team.
The player scoring the most runs was Fya Oneâs Roneke James, who tallied 169 in his knocks in the competition.
Tex Franklyn of Dr Thomas Injectors copped the Most Wickets accolade for his 23 scalps. John Daisley, who represented Rate Yo Boys Challengers, received an award for being the Oldest Player in the competition.(RT)
