Quartet to represent GTC at ITF St Lucia
Four young Tennis players from the Grassroot Tennis Club (GTC) will be part of the Coca Cola Junior ITF Tournament set for St Lucia from this weekend.
Making the trip are Antonio Cain, Akeil De Roche and brothers â Che and Rio Connell.{{more}}
They will be accompanied by Trevor Sam, who is the head coach at the GTC. Sam will also perform the role as manager.
The tournament, which is a Grade 5 ranked tournament, will be played on the hard courts at the St Lucia National Tennis Centre at Beausejour in Gros Islet.
Apart from gaining the necessary experience, the quartet will be looking to earn points on the COTEC circuit.
On their return from St Lucia, De Roche and Cain especially are expected to contest the Under-14 segment of the ITF Junior Tournament, which is set for the National Tennis Centre at Villa, August 8 to 13.(RT)
