Elected as part of the Brian Nash executive on April 2 this year, Henry listed a number of issues directly pointing to Nashâs operations, which prompted his decision to resign.
He named as reasons against Nash, âAccusing me of profiteering; not adhering to the principles of due process and making wild accusations on behalf of othersâ¦Not following the principles of natural justice and to be fair to all partiesâ¦and engaging in processes and actions not becoming of the holder of such an office.â
According to Henryâs letter, the changing of the associationâs website is what triggered him to ask questions of Nashâs operations in his capacity as president.
Henry accused Nash of re-designing of the SVGTA logo without authorization from the executive or the general body, as well as the establishment of a website for the SVGTA when there was one already in operation.
The resigned PRO also pointed a finger at Nash for âlying to the general body on the reasons for the establishment of the www.svgta.com website after it was established; not stating the truth as to the reasons why the www.svgtennis.com website was not being updated.â
Nash, however, told SEARCHLIGHT on Wednesday that during Henryâs tenure as PRO of the SVGTA, âthere were always difference of opinion on certain matters and I wish him all the bestâ.
On the matter of change of the SVGTAâs logo, Nash said that the decision had the majority backing of executive members and when such a decision was taken, Henry was absent.
Nash pointed out: âDecisions were always taken at meetings in which Henry may or may not be presentâ.
The SVGTA president noted that changing the logo was âto simplify and modernize itâ.
âWe needed to spruce it up and made it such can be easily reproduced and easy to print,â Nash added.
He revealed that with the new logo, it will be easier to do merchandising on T-shirts, mugs and the like.
With the exit of Henry, the rest of the executive is still intact.
Other than Nash, in place are Deborah King â vice-president, Janelle Humphrey â secretary, Donnette Lyttle â treasurer and committee members â Terry Ballantyne, Winfield Tannis-Abbott, Cleopatra White and Karen Anderson.(RT)
