This, after the Vincentians were beaten 2-0 by Grenada on Wednesday night, in the second match of the dayâs double header, as the group got going.
SVG had most of the possession in the first half; however, the players were indecisive in the final third of the field.
The hosts had an opportunity to go ahead in the 40th minute, but Garret Leigertwoodâs shot found the foot of the right upright.
Against the run of play, in first half injury time, Grenadaâs Shermon Williams volleyed a right foot shot directly from a corner, which left Vincentian goalkeeper Clinton Payne grabbing thin air and muted the partisan crowd, who had been enjoying the home team passage of play.
Grenadaâs other item came very early in the second half, also from a set piece, when Shawn Clarke headed home from a left side corner, before the Vincentian lads could even settle.
The pattern of play continued like the first half, with SVGâs players relying much on their individual skills, but failing to put together that synergy that would have brought them goals.
In the first of the double header, Bermuda had to come from behind to defeat St Lucia 2-1.
A 27th minute strike from Gabriel Biscette gave the St Lucians the lead, only for Kane Crischlow to level the match in the 43rd minute.
Bermuda got the winner in the 82nd minute, via Zuhri Burgess.
St Lucia will take on Grenada from 4 p.m. today, before the SVG versus Bermuda match-up.
The final round of matches on Sunday will see Grenada taking on Bermuda from 4 p.m.,
followed at 6.30 p.m. by St Vincent and the Grenadines playing St Lucia.
Twenty teams are battling for the seven spots in the Caribbean finals, which will be hosted by Trinidad and Tobago.
Qualifying from the group stage will be the group winners, followed by the best runner-up.
For the teams competing in the CFU finals, five spots will be available for qualification to the CONCACAF round of the championships.(RT)
