Je Belle FC served achievement recipe

Devron Poyer, the featured speaker at Je Belle FC’s inaugural awards and recognition ceremony held last month, left with the 15-year-old club, a five-piece meal of which the organization should partake.

Poyer, the administrative assistant of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation (SVGFF), recommended that in order for the club to live up to its motto “Believe and Achieve,” it must pursue education and knowledge enhancement, promote training, practice, and skill development, have a contingency plan, learn at every stage from their successes and failures and to be committed and devoted.{{more}}

According to Poyer, “Education plays a pivotal role in all aspects of our lives, and so too in the area of sports…. For your club to achieve many of the plans that were penned, knowledge enhancement is key to achieving such…. Once you discover and develop your club, the mountains that can be moved and the achievements made may surprise you.”

On the ingredient of training and practice, Poyer pointed out, “Training, practice and skill development teaches how to achieve proper balance…The club, with continued training and practice, would become more disciplined, as those sessions would give the individuals the tools for improvement …Training increases one’s focus, and this is a key element if one is to excel and achieve.”

He also encouraged the Je Belle FC to always make plans “for the unforeseen…. By doing so, you are preparing in a way to keep your club competitive, as things change day by day in our society.

“Failure isn’t always a bad thing… Sometimes it is inevitable and sometimes it is even good… Many persons are of the view that it is best to learn from failures than from successes… They also believe that learning from both can be pretty straightforward,” Poyer stressed as being critical in the club going forward.

In relating the importance of commitment and devotion to cause, Poyer noted, “A serious commitment is way more than words…. It is best demonstrated and proven by your actions on a regular basis…. People will initially listen to your words, but will ultimately measure your commitment and your character by your deeds…. Jebelle FC is waiting on your commitment in order for it to fulfill its mandate and mission.”

The ceremony was a forum to recognize the efforts of those who excelled in the 2016 National Club Championships, staged by the SVGFF.(RT)
