Outstanding performers in Windwards Under-19 Cricket Tournament rewarded
Those players who excelled in the just concluded Winlott Inc Windward Islands Under-19 Cricket Tournament have been recognized.
Topping the list of awardees was Vincentian Othniel Lewis, who was tournamentâs Most Valuable Player and the Leading Wicket Taker with 20 scalps.{{more}}
Lewis scored 149 runs in his six innings and was not out on three occasions.
Grenadian Emmanuel Stewart was the tournamentâs Leading Run Getter with 256, and was the lone batsman to score a century â 102 not out versus St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Stewart was a member of the West Indies Under-19 unit which won the ICC tournament in Bangladesh in February this year.
Dominican Deon Burton secured the Best Wicket-keeper award for his 10 catches and three stumpings. Lewis, Stewart and Burton were the choices of Most Valuable Players for their teams. The other recipient of that award was Shervin George â St Lucia.(RT)
