Netball back at Lincoln Terrace, NY
After a one-year absence, the Caribbean Area Netball Association (CANA) Netball Tournament has returned to its âhomeâ at Lincoln Terrace Park, East New York Avenue, Brooklyn, New York.{{more}}
The 2016 edition began last Saturday with a march past of teams from Utica Avenue to the courts at Lincoln Terrace.
Speeches from netball officials and others were part of the opening ceremony. A feature match, involving some of the younger players, followed the formalities.
Twenty teams from 13 clubs, including Vincentian outfits â Islanders A and B and United â have registered to participate in this yearâs tournament.
Sun Splash, Volcanoes, Survivors, Allyanze, Flames Blazers, Allyanze Fusion, Rising Eagles, Scorchers and Untouchables are some of the teams listed to compete.
The 20 teams compete in three divisions â Inters, A Two and Seniors.
Matches will be played on Saturdays and Sundays until August 28, when the curtains come down on the tournament.(RT)
