Cavaliers keeping eyes on BCL prize
Cavaliers Cricket and Athletics Club, in its aim to repeat the hold on the three titles won in the Brooklyn Cricket League in 2015, continued the defence of the 40-over competition with a win over Janoon last Sunday at Seaview.
Cavaliers, taking first strike, reached 178 for 2 in 25 overs. Albert Tesheira, former St Vincent and the Grenadines, Windward Islands and USA batsman, rolled back the hands of time, as he scored 80 not out and former Jamaica player, Denville McKenzie, stroked 43.{{more}}
In reply, Janoon was 143 for 5 when rain stopped play, giving Cavaliers the win under the Duckworth /Lewis method.
Also on Sunday, another Vincentian outfit, Imperial, was in winnerâs row.
Facing Pak Brighton at Marine Park B, Imperial, on the back of Hyron Shallowâs 53, was dismissed for 128 all out.
Pak Brighton fell for 100 all out, giving Imperial win by 28 runs. Bowling for Imperial, Calvin Glasgow bagged 5 for 25.
All four Vincentian teams will be in action this Saturday.
Imperial take on Stars at Marine Park C, with Cavaliers facing Diplomats at Marine Park A on Saturday, and an all-Vincy clash set for Marine Park B, between Middlesex and Queensbury.(RT)
