Blue Marlins Swim team finish 12th in BASA 25th invitational event
The Blue Marlins Swim Team, accompanied by coach Neisha Alexander, participated and produced a good showing at the recent BASA 25th invitational event at the Barbados Aquatic Centre.
The club managed a 12th place finish among the 18 teams taking part in the meet, with a total of 42 points. The team of eight comprised Kennice Greene, who managed a bronze medal in the 50m freestyle and overall four personal best times from the seven events she entered.{{more}}
Adiah Phillips and Abigale DeShong both commendably achieved personal best times in all their seven and six events respectively. Tyrese Lewis managed a goal setting achievement for himself of six personal best times from seven events entered. Brandon George came away finishing with five personal best times from his entries in seven events. Older sibling Bryson George managed five personal best times from the 10 events he entered. Kenale Alleyne finished with seven personal best times from his 10 events. The very promising six-year-old swimmer Hazen DaBriel, in his maiden regional/international outing, finished the meet with a personal best time in the 50m freestyle. The event was held over three days in Barbados.
The Black Sands Swim Squad also competed and emerged best OECS Swim Club, fielding some 13 swimmers at the event and finishing in third place overall.
