Carrington tops Biabou football awards

Utility player Dimitri Carrington was named as the Most Valuable Player of this year’s Hairoun Beer Biabou Football League.

Carrington’s consistent performance helped Hairoun Groove Street Ballers to the league title last Sunday at the Biabou Playing Field.

It was his header which was the equalizing goal, which gave Groove Street Ballers a lifeline, after they were trailing SV United 2-1.{{more}}

Apart from copping the top individual award, two other Groove Street Ballers’ players were among the awardees.

Brad Richards was named the Best Midfielder, while Deomaji Samuel shared the top goal scoring honours with Walvaroo City’s Dorian Dallaway. Samuel and Dallaway were listed to have scored eight goals.

Copping the Best Defender award was SV United’s Kimron Quashie, while the Best Goalkeeper was Kensley Joseph of Sparta FC.

Adjudged the Most Improved Player was Biabou Stingers’ Deshawn Kydd .

The two team awards presented at Sunday’s closing ceremony were pouched by Taktikal Ballers and Richland Park Pride and Joy, who were voted the Most Discip-lined Team and the Best Dressed Team, respectively.(RT)
