This workshop takes place at the Xpert Computer Centre from 5 p.m.
The 3×3 tournament is set for the Calliaqua hard court, June 18 and 19.
As a prelude to the tournament, SVGBF was recently represented at a workshop in Puerto Rico by vice-president Sanjay Jiandani, who is also the national co-ordinator and technical director for the 3×3 format.
Jiandani was among 11 Caribbean nations at the introductory workshop, which dealt with the history, development and success of the 3×3 game around the world.
It also looked at the roles of each individual national federation for the implementation of this format, the rules and regulations of the 3×3 game, the use of the digital platforms and the action plan for developing the 3×3 game in each country.
âItâs fast-paced, fun, entertaining and shortâ¦ideal for any age group⦠It is an ideal way to build the interest and make the sport more fun and family friendly,â Jiandani said.
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA) has opted for the shorter, quicker format of the game, similar to the street ball scene, which is considered the best way to encourage more participation.(RT)
