Lewis, who often has to watch Zefal Bailey, Cammie Adams or Lucky Antrobus finish ahead of him, reversed the fortunes when he took Sunday’s 42-mile event.

Pedalling his way to the top, Lewis was the first to cross the end line in a time of two hours 40 minutes 29.10 seconds, to complete the five-lap race.

The distance saw the Elite cyclists rounding the Mount Pleasant to Bridgetown circuit on five occasions and finishing at the bus stop at one of the entrances of the Argyle International Airport.

Zefal Bailey was a close second in two hours 40 minutes 29.20 seconds, with brothers Lucky and Marlon Antrobus taking the third and fourth spots respectively.

Lucky’s time was two hours 55 minutes 15.55 seconds and Marlon, three hours 9 minutes 54.53 seconds.

There was also a change in the masters’ category, as Ollivierre surged ahead of Randy Wilkinson and the customary winner Peter Durrant in that order.

Doing three laps of the course, Ollivierre’s winning time was one hour 29 minutes 0.17 seconds, while Wilkinson clocked one hour 29 minutes 0.20 seconds and Durrant – one hour 30 minutes 27 seconds.

In addition to their overall placing, Lewis and Bailey shared the primes, with Bailey taking the mountain and Lewis – the sprint.

In the masters’ category, both primes went to Durrant.(RT)
