Injectors out to stay perfect in East Kingstown softball cricket
With three wins already under their belt, Dr Thomas Injectors will be looking to make it four in a row when they meet Simple Touch on Sunday morning at the Grammar School Playing in the Ruddyâs Electrical East Kingstown Sports Association Twenty/20 Softball Cricket Competition.{{more}}
This is one of five matches set for the weekend, with the noontime match on Sunday, featuring Buccament versus Just For the Fun, and the 3 p.m. match-up pits Attackers against Bank of SVG All Stars.
Before Sundayâs action, two matches are carded for Saturday, with Combined Rangers taking on Alcoholics from 1 p.m. and from 3 p.m., Rising Stars oppose United Two.
When the competition continued last weekend, Buccament, United Two and Richmond Hill were in winners row.
Buccament confiscated Customsâ joy by eight wickets.
Customs scored 99 all out, with Calbert Springer making 51 and Leslie Millington, 22.
Bowling for Buccament, Linden Neil grabbed 5 for 11 and Renrick Quashie, 2 for 36.
In response, Buccament, on the back of nine sixes and three fours from Reynold Quashie, who struck 75 not out, powered to 102 for 2.
Meanwhile, United Two overcame AIW Richards Masters by five wickets.
Elmondo Shoy, 24, was the top scorer in Richards Mastersâ total of 91 all out. Responsible for that modest total were Kevorn Cozier, who snared 4 for 28, Casmond Walters, 2 for 9 and Raffie Williams, 2 for 24.
Michael Fredericks, 33 not out and Casmond Walters, 23, saw United Two to 93 for 5.
Wayne Garraway picked up 2 for 14, bowling for Richards Masters.
And, Richmond Hill swept aside Smart Strikers by 34 runs.
Batting first, Richmond Hill reached 120 for 4 from their 20 overs; Rohan Ash made 48, Deptor Culzac, 23 and Justin Lee, 22.
Collin Lee, 3 for 10; Zenroy Lee, 3 for 12 and Elroy Cumberbatch, 2 for 24, conjured to dismiss Smart Strikers for 86.
