Mc Dowall takes fifth spot in Guadeloupe half marathon

Linda Mc Dowall raked in the fifth place in the women’s segment of the City of Abymes, Guadeloupe Half Marathon, which took place April 30, in the French Caribbean territory.{{more}}

Mc Dowall, the current Vincentian top female distance athlete, came home in a time of 1 hour 27 minutes 41 seconds, a timing which saw her being the 37th finisher among the 226 persons who started the 13.2 mile event.

Taking the top prize among the women was Sorany Rodriquez of the Dominican Republic, whose time was 1 hour 18 minutes 46 seconds.

Rodriquez and Mc Dowall sandwiched Svitlana Starko of Ukraine, Mary Akor of Nigeria and Bohorquez Osorio of Venezuela, in that order.

Apart from Mc Dowall, St Vincent and the Grenadines was represented in the men’s bracket by Pamenos Ballantyne.

Ballantyne placed 15th overall, as he clocked 1 hour 19 minutes 28 seconds.

James Theuri of France was the first across the tape in 1 hour 07 minutes 22 seconds.
