Tennis gets new spark
A one-day mini-doubles tennis tournament this Saturday, April 30, at the National Tennis Centre at Villa, will kick off the on court debut of the new executive of the St Vincent and Grenadines Tennis Association (SVGTA).{{more}}
Set to serve off at 10 a.m., categories named are the Under-10 singles, Under-14 doubles and 14 and Over doubles, for both males and females.
According to new public relations officer of the SVGTA Robertson S Henry: âThere is no limit on any age for persons willing to participate⦠It is an open mini tournament, and a number of past players have indicated their participation.â
Henry stated that some players who have represented in the past will be on show, as part of giving back to the sport.
Saturdayâs event will be used as a fund-raiser for the Brian Nash led executive, which was elected April 2.
Meanwhile, Nash and company are moving ahead with plans to host the 2016 International Tennis Federation Junior Tennis Tournament in August.
