Street Fighters craft double wins in Clinchers Softball Competition
We Come Back Street Fighters had back-to-back wins on Sunday, in the SVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers T20 Softball Competition at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}
In their first match, they defeated Mt Pleasant Strikers by nine wickets.
Batting first, Mt Pleasant Strikers were dismissed for 62 in 17.1 overs. Marley Duncan had 3 for 6 and Ricardo Thomas, 3 for 16, bowling for Street Fighters, who then rushed to 65 for 1 in just 8 overs.
Ozni Bellingy struck 27 not out and Marley Duncan, 26 not out.
In their second fixture, Street Fighters registered a 95-run win over Snipers Reload.
Again it was the usual hard-hitting Ozni Bellingy, who plastered two fours and seven sixes in his 54 and Antonio Barker, 31 not out, to see Street Fighters to 144 for 9 from their 20 overs.
Elford Adams took 3 for 13, to be Snipers Reloadâs most successful bowler.
Snipers Reload could not find their clip and were brought down for 49 in 16 overs. Jerando Jardine top scored with 20.
Before Street Fightersâ dominance on Sunday, Smashers had overcome the potent Sion Hill Tallawahs by 48 runs, on Saturday.
Smashers, inserted by the Tallawahs, reached 124 for 7 off their 20 overs. Delano Woodley led the way with 34, in which he posted three sixes and a four.
For the Tallawahs, Shawn Williams grabbed 3 for 10 and Shanly Lavia, 2 for 20.
Sion Hill Tallawahs, in their run chase, crashed to 76 all out in 15 overs.
Shamic Roberts top scored with 29. Glendon James bagged 5 for 20 and Anthony John, 2 for 6, as Smashers went high and dry.
The other scheduled match between CGM Gallagher Novice and KLT Strikers saw Novice gaining easy points, as KLT Strikers were unable to field a team when play was called.
