Juliana Nero submerges United Survivors with bat and ball
Former West Indies player Juliana Nero starred with both bat and ball, to lead Garifuna Stars to a thumping win over United Survivors, in the lone match in the womenâs competition of the national cricket competition, last Saturday.{{more}}
Nero, the current St Vincent and the Grenadinesâ captain, faced 102 balls, stroking 14 fours and six sixes in her ton of 124 not out.
This was the launch pad for her team posting 201 for 5 off 35 overs at the Sion Hill Playing Field.
Nyasha Williams, 22, and Hazel Ann Foster, 21, also made contributions to Garifuna Starsâ total.
Bowling for United Survivors, Camille Garrick picked off 3 for 37 and Clea Hoyte had 2 for 40.
United Survivors turn at the crease got to 159 all out off 30 overs. Cordel Jack topscored with 48, including five fours and a six, while Shavorne Clarke hit 22 and Maria Abbott, 21.
Nero crowned off a good all round performance, taking 3 for 39 and Terisha Lavia had 2 for 19, as Garifuna Stars won by 42 runs.
