High Performance five straight in National Juvenile Athletics Championships
High Performance, previously Negative To Positive, ran off with the 2016 National Juvenile Athletics Championships, for the fifth year in a row, last Saturday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.{{more}}
High Performance tallied 469 points, beating Buccament Government School into second place with 393 points. The two had the largest participation of athletes.
Placing third was IT- DAT Academy with 123 points, while the Bethel High School was fourth, registering 105 points and the X- Cel Track club- fifth with 104 points.
System Three with 102 points, the St Vincent Grammar School, 70; CW Prescod Primary School, 68; the St Martinâs Secondary School, 53 and the Fair Hall Primary and the Buccament Bay Secondary which both received 5 points, complete the list of participating teams.
The Buccament Government school, had the most divisional awards, pouching six of them.
Bossing the Under-7 age category, Buccament Governmentâs Kenneisha Grant was the female champion and Hensley Bushay the male winner. Grant recorded 16 points and Bushay, 15.
It was a similar case in the Under-11, as Oné Williams won the female and Zachery Durham the male categories as Buccament Government again dominated. Williams had 20 points and Durham, 21.
The two other awards which went Buccament Governmentâs way were taken by Awana Stephens – female Under-9 and Ulanda Lewis – female Under-13.
There was a tie for the male Under- 9 winner, as Jonte Ollivierre of the CW Prescod Primary and Jakiem John of High Performance, both gathered 14 points each.
Kesroy Glasgow of the Bethel High School, 23 points, took the male Under-13, with IT -DAT Academyâs Grenisha Thomas taking 32 points to be crowned the Under-15 female champion.
Glasgow went on to take the Victor Ludorum title and Thomas the Victrix Ludorum.
The St Vincent Grammar Schoolâs Jevonie Glasgow won the male Under-15, with his 22 points.
