Outa Trouble safe in Clinchers Softball Cricket Competition

Country meets Town Outa Trouble had back-to-back wins last Saturday in the SVG Police Co-operative Credit Union Clinchers T20 Softball Cricket Compe-tition at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}

In the first match, Country Meets Town Outa Trouble defeated Mt Pleasant Strikers by 92 runs, then registered a 148-run win over Gunners.

Facing Mt Pleasant, Outa Trouble scored 146 in 19.3 overs. Mickel Mapp struck 42, made up of four fours and three sixes, while Rawdon Bentick stroked three sixes and a four in his 35.

Orlando Tesheira grabbed 4 for 20 for Mt Pleasant Strikers, who were bowled out for 54. Rawdon Bentick had 3 for 18.

In the second match Outa Trouble reached 159 for 5 in their 20 overs, with Richie Richards getting 66 not out. He blasted seven sixes and three fours and Javid Harry, 36. Max Bibby took 3 for 27, bowling for Gunners.

In reply, Gunners, batting with eight men, were shelled down for 11 in 5.3 overs. Nicholas Ottley had 3 for 2 and Sunil James, 3 for 9, bowling for Outa Trouble.

On Sunday, Budgmart Simple Touch went under to Smashers by 11 runs.

Smashers scored 59 in 11.5 overs, with Brian Mc Clean returning the impressive figures of 6 for 7 in 2.5 overs and Montel John, 3 for 9.

Simple Touch were then dismissed for 48 in 16.1overs, with Linton Peters taking 4 for 13.

Also on Sunday, Clinchers defeated Rogers Photo Studio Fya One by five wickets.

Fya One made 79 in 18.2 overs, with Malden Scrubb taking 3 for 16. Israel Baptiste’s 22 was the top score.

Clinchers got to 80 for 5. Donwell Hector top scored with 29.

And, Owia Young Strikers got the better of CGM Gallagher Novice by a faster scoring rate, after rain brought a premature end to their match.

Novice got to 95 for 9 off their 20 overs, with Sydney Campbell’s 27 being the top score. Randel Munroe picked up 3 for 20.

Owia Young Strikers won after being 73 for 4 in the 15th over, at which stage Novice was 55 for 5 when they batted.

Zaniel Baptiste top scored for Owia Young Strikers with 38, which included four fours and treble sixes.

Player of the weekend was Brian Mc Clean, who had figures of 6 for 7 against Smashers.
