Kerina Hooper stands out at SVGCC track meet
Kerina Hooper was the standout performer when the 2016 QuickCash Corp National Lotteries SVG Community College Athletics Championships were staged last Friday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.{{more}}
Hooper tallied 38 points, as she won the 400m, 800m and 1,500m, which assisted Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies to the title.
The new winners amassed a total of 228 points to dethrone Year Two Technical and Vocational Studies, the 2015 winners.
Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies placed second, with a total of 189.5 points, while Year One Technical and Vocational Studies took the third spot with 169 points.
Taking the Female Division was Year One Arts, Sciences and General Studies, with a tally of 138 points, while Year Two Arts, Sciences and General Studies ran away with the Male Division, with 133 points.
Meanwhile, Jimeon Hendrickson of Year Two Arts, Science and General Studies was awarded the Male Individual title. Hendrickson compiled 26 points, winning the 200m and placing second in both the 100m and 400m.
Hendrickson nipped Rothwell John of Year One Technical and Vocational Studies, who had 25 individual points.
The athletics championships concluded the internal sports competitions for the academic year, which also involved football, basketball, netball and volleyball.(RT)
