Nash, who along with the rest of his executive was elected unopposed at a special meeting staged last Saturday at the National Tennis Centre at Villa, said the group needed to go forward as a team.
Accepting that there will be no âhoneymoonâ period, Nash said that his executive would have to hit the ground running, as there are several obligations which have to be met soon.
One of the major tasks of the new executive is planning for the hosting of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) Junior Tournament in August.
The other members of the board are Deborah King â vice-president; Janelle Humphrey â secretary, with Donnette Lyttle â treasurer and Robertson Henry â public relations officer.
Karen Anderson and Winfield Tannis-Abbott, who were elected in September 2013 as committee members, retained their posts, with Terry Ballantyne and Cleopatra White also making up the list of officers.
This team of personnel replaces the previous crop, which was headed by James Bascombe.
The outgoing executive, up to last Saturday, only comprised Bascombe, secretary Niquette Williams-Lewis and Tannis-Abbott.
Battered by several happenings, the past executive, which initially saw Miles Boyea as president, before he stepped down in 2014, thus thrusting the position onto Bascombe, recorded many resignations and non-functioning of members.
Then treasurer Donnette Lyttle, assistant secretary Cecile Michael-Samuel, public relations officer Roland Veira and committee members Karen Anderson, Onike Spann and Julia Evans all parted ways during the period.
Last Saturdayâs meeting was prompted and enforced by a unit calling themselves the âTennis Group,â as the associationâs Annual General Meeting was overdue.
The new executiveâs tenure has a two-year duration.(RT)
