Housing gives lodging to street cricket title

The Ministry of Housing has taken in for safekeeping, the title of street 20/20 cricket champions of the Inter-ministerial and Statutory Bodies Games.{{more}}

Housing completed the accommodation process last Wednesday at the Arnos Vale Netball Complex.

Facing last year’s winners, Ministry of Transport, Housing came away winners by 11 runs. Batting first, Housing scored 50 for 2, but Transport could only reply with 39 for 4.

Mapping out their plan, in their quarter-finals, Housing was not so welcoming to the Ministry of Tourism, Sports and Culture, beating them by 10 runs. Scores: Housing – 57 for 2; Tourism, Sports and Culture – 47 for 2.

This set up a meeting with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the semi-finals, with Housing trumping by three wickets.

Foreign Affairs registered 53 for 3, to which Housing responded with 55 for 2.

For the dethroned champions, their journey in the elimination phase saw them evading the Ministry of National Security by 3 runs in the quarter-finals and recording a three-wicket win over Ministry of National Mobilization in the semi- finals.(RT)
