Eight more pool sharks added to finale of Guinness ‘Got Balls?’ competition
In a surprise move, the St Vincent Brewery Limited has added an additional eight players to the grand finale of the 2016 Guinness âGot Balls?â pool competition, bringing the total number of pool sharks competing for the EC$5,000 prize money to 16.{{more}}
The final night of pool action takes place this Saturday, March 12, at Martyâs Sports Bar in Pembroke and will see the top 16 pool players from the eight semi-final rounds of competition competing for a chance to be labelled as the best.
Competing on Saturday are Casmos Hackshaw and Ozzie St Hillaire, who were first and second from the Police Canteen semi-final round; Andy Lynch and Sigmund Allen (Nani Bellingy), Dygo Sergeant and Vaughn Barker (Tunnel View Bar), Glenroy Cupid and Oshea Thompson (Big City Life), Jeffrey Casino and Brian Ambris (Over the River Grocery), Mikey Bacchus and Alson Barker (Chill Spot, Bequia), Marty Knights and Rocky Punnett (Azard St Hill) and Edmund Branch and Camilus Pitt (Tree House Bar).
The competition starts at 7 p.m., with entertainment provided by DJ Kal, Hypa 4000, Ismael the Demolition Man and DJ Fryer from Trinidad and Tobago.
Last Saturday, March 5, Edmund Branch secured the eighth spot in the finals when he beat last yearâs second place finisher Camilus Pitt.
âThis was a good night of pool and as it relates to the finals, one can only hope,â said Branch, after receiving his EC$500 prize money from tournament supervisor Cleve âSkipâ McKenzie.
Commenting, Pitt said that the games were very challenging and that he feels he did his best.
He stressed that Branch played very well. âI still have next week to recover,â added Pitt.
