Another five teams credited in Clinchers Softball Cricket Competition
Calder United, Fully Loaded Ballerz, Smashers, Owia Young Strikers and Country Meet Town Out ah Trouble were all in winners circle when the St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Co- operative Credit Union Clinchers T20 Competition continued at the weekend at the Richland Park Oval.{{more}}
On Saturday, Calder United defeated Gomea Bombers by five wickets.
Batting first, Gomea Bombers scored 81 in 12 overs, with Kendal Payne 25.
Kenron Fraser palmed 5 for 20 and William Nanton had 2 for 10, bowling for Calder United, who replied with 83 for 5.
Leading the successful run chase was Kevin Henry, who struck 26, while Ovando OâBrien took 2 for 9, but in a losing cause.
In Saturdayâs other match, Fully Loaded Ballerz beat Snipers Reload by 57 runs.
Fully Loaded Ballerz realized 117, with a top score of 35 from Roneke James. Saqlin Williams, with 4 for 13, was Snipersâ most successful bowler.
Snipers Reload in their effort could only make 60, as the bowling prowess of Ortis Hector â 5 for 15 and Roneke James â 3 for 11, proved too much.
On Sunday, Dr Thomas Injectors went down to Smashers by eight wickets.
Dr Thomas Injectors were skittled out for 46; Linton Peters bagged 5 for 15 and Shiyam Pope, 3 for 8.
In reply, Smashers made 48 for 2; Quesnel Cottoy took 2 for 7.
But it was a closer happening as Owia Young Strikers edged out Nice Radio Clinchers by one run in a very exciting match.
Taking the crease first, Owia Young Strikers scored 94. Kenford Collis made 26. For Clinchers, Okeiph Andrews took 3 for 12.
In response, Nice Radio Clinchers made 93 for 8 from their 20 overs. Sherman Bailey scored 26. Rondel Munroe had figures of 4 for 13.
In the weekendâs final match, Country Meet Town Out ah Trouble got the better of Street Fighters by 32 runs.
Out ah Trouble got up to 134 for 8 from 20 overs. Richie Richards with 46 and Saski Weekes, 32, being the main contributors.
Bowling, Ricardo Thomas snared 3 for 23 and Jalbie Butler 3 for 36, including the seasonâs first hat-trick.
Street Fighters responded with 102 for 8 from 20 overs. Ozni Billingy smashed 61, laced with seven sixes and three fours.
Wesrick Straugh, 3 for 11 and Rodney Lawrence, 2 for 19, were the main wicket takers.
Gaining the player of the weekend award was Rondel Munroe, who took 4 for 13 in four overs, to help Owia Young Strikers beat Nice Radio Clinchers by one run.
Another five matches are carded for this weekend.
Beginning on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. â Rate Yo Boyz Challengers will meet Budgmart Simple Touch and this will be followed at 3 p.m. by Finishing & Furnishing KLT Strikers taking on Rogers Photo Studio Fya ONE.
Sunday, from 9:30 a.m., CGM Gallagher Novice take on Smart Strikers and Gairy Construction Simple Boyz will meet Gomea Bombers from 12.30 p.m.
The final match will see RSVG Police engaging Sea Operations Nar Fren Dem from 3 p.m.(RT)
