Another packed calendar for TASVG

The usual list of track and field events undertaken by Team Athletics SVG are once more set on the national organization’s calendar for 2016.

Having had a mini meet last Saturday at the Arnos Vale One Playing Field and a Throws Classic the previous Saturday, another Throws Classic is slated for January 30, also at the Arnos Vale venue.{{more}}

Saturday, February 6 is the date set aside for the National Relay Classic, which is scheduled for the Victoria Park.

The local Carifta trials to assist in the selection in the St Vincent and the Grenadines team come off on February 27 at Arnos Vale One.

The month of March hosts the Juvenile Championships on March 12 and one week later, the Hurdles Classic. Both events have Arnos Vale One as the place for their staging.

Action shifts to the Victoria Park on April 9 for the Kids In Athletics championships and it is back to Arnos Vale for the National Championships, as well as the National Teams Championships on May 21 and 22.

Team Athletics SVG will facilitate the Firms Sports, which was previously known as the Financial Sports, at the Arnos Vale Playing Field on May 28.

And, interspersed between the main courses are several other mini meets, which would run off at various venues, including some in the rural areas.

The local track and field meets are performance indicators for the home grown athletes stock, as they prep for regional and international competition.(RT)
