William âBillâ Edwards slammed 103 not out to pilot Sion Hill to 217 for 5, which laid the platform for his teamâs comprehensive 129-run win over North Leeward in the first semi-finals of the SVG Masters Cricket Competition.{{more}}
Edwards, a former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards Under-19 and senior national opening batsman, struck seven fours, four sixes and 12 twos in his knock.
Sylvanus Vanloo â 39 and Keyon Jack â 22, added to Sion Hillâs total.
Conroy Ryan was North Leewardâs most successful bowler, taking 3 for 25.
North Leeward was dismissed for 88 in 17. 3 overs, undone by the bowling of Colin Shoy with 4 for 6, Brian Davis â 2 for 2, Gary Rodriquez â 2 for 21 and Joseph Medford â 2 for 22.
William âBuddie Willieâ Edwards top scored for North Leeward with 30.
Sion Hill, last yearâs losing finalist, will meet the winner of the other pending semi-final, which would feature RSVG Police and St Vincent Co-operative Bank Ptani.
RSVG Police set their meeting with Ptani, after stopping Bequia Cricket Association Masters also on Sunday at the Park Hill Playing Field.
RSVG Police, batting first, scored 175 for 1 off 20 overs; Gosnel Cupid made 53, Trevor Bailey â 52 not out and Parnell Browne â 42 not out.
Bequia Cricket Association Masters, in reply, ended their chase at 68 for 7 off 14 overs. Carlos Sampson picked up 3 for 16, bowling for RSVG Police.
The RSVG Police versus Ptani encounter is set for this weekend, with the final carded for December 13.(RT)
