This event was a tremendous success and saw many personal best times for athletes in Freestyle and Breast Stroke events. Athletes were rewarded for all levels of participation with medals and ribbons.
It was a fun-filled day, evident by the smiles all around: athletes, families and fans, as the athletes swam and interacted with their peers and had the opportunity to meet with other athletes from around the country.
The meet was made possible through the generous donations of Subway restaurants and KFC and also through the support of the SVG Swimming Federation, the Shrewsbury Aquatic Centre officials, volunteers, coaches and athletes, who ensured that the day ran smoothly.
Special Olympics National Games will culminate with track and field events on February 4 and 5, 2016, at the Victoria Park.
