Facing LIME Radcliffe in Sunday’s final at the Park Hill Playing Field, Ambris belted five fours and two sixes in his knock of 71, while Desron Maloney spanked two fours and the same number of sixes in his 42, to see Saints to 171 all out in 35.4 overs.

Delorn Johnson – 3 for 22 and Dyke Cato – 3 for 41 were the main wicket takers for Radcliffe.

In their response, Radcliffe fell 64 runs short, dismissed for 107 in 25.5 overs. Delorn Johnson top scored with 28. Bowling for Saints, Andrew Emtage took 2 for 0; Rolando Wright got 2 for 21 and Ray Charles – 2 for 23.

Saints had earned the right to a spot in the final, after registering a comfortable eight-wicket win over 2015 First Division winners – Ruddy’s Electrical Unique Warriors on Saturday at Arnos Vale One.

Again it was Ambris who was in the cockpit, as he steered the victory course with 63 not out.

Ambris, who flew in from Dominica where he is in camp with the Windward Islands four-day team, preparing for the 2015-2016 West Indies Professional Cricket League, measured eight fours and three sixes in his knock, while Maloney – one of Saints’ drafted players – compiled 36 not out. Maloney laced four boundaries.

Shaquille Browne, one of Unique Warriors’ imports, took 2 for 37.

Earlier, Unique Warriors’ innings ended at 139 all out in 39.5 overs. Dawnley Joseph, another of the drafted players, top scored with 44.

Shem Browne, with 4 for 17, Romel Currency – 2 for 19 and Ray Charles – 2 for 23, were responsible for Unique Warriors’ dismantling.

Also on Saturday, Radcliffe ousted defending champions Team Rivals at Park Hill.

Rivals posted 164 for 9 from their 40 overs, with Harley Skerritt, Asif Hooper and draftee – Atticus Browne, all making 26. Bowling for Radcliffe, Delorn Johnson grabbed 4 for 26 and Rodney Lawrence – 2 for 28.

Radcliffe then reached 165 for 5, to win by five wickets. Lindon James led the chase with 41 and draftee Salvan Browne, 40.

Kesrick Williams took 2 for 27 for Rivals.

The Super-40 competition is an elimination competition played among the top three teams from the Premier Division and the First Division winners.

Team Rivals, Saints and Radcliffe, finished first, second and third, respectively in the Premier Division.(RT)
