RSVG Police in one-way traffic in North Leeward

Mc Leon Williams directed traffic in one direction last Sunday at the Petit Bordel Playing Field, as he led defending champions of the Vinlec North Leeward T/20 Cricket Competition RSVG Police to another win.{{more}}

Williams, a left-handed opening batsman, blasted an even 100 to see his team to 267 for 6, off 20 overs. Bowling for Somerset, Devan Patterson had 2 for 57 and David Murray 2 for 60.

Somerset’s response stopped at 101 all out, off 13.4 overs, reined in by the bowling of Salvan Spencer – 3 for 23 and Kenneth Dember 2 for 11, as the law officers won by 16 runs.

The other victor on Sunday was North Stars, who defeated Robertson Surveying Future Legends by 29 runs.

North Stars posted 197 for 7 off their 20 overs, with Kenneth Forbes making 61, Seon Sween, 42 and Lindon James, 31.

Benniton Stapleton, 2 for 21 and Shangi John, 2 for 44, were the most successful bowlers for Future Legends.

In response, Future Legends were stifled for 168 for 7 from their 20 overs. Oswald Soleyn, 38 and Marcus Castello, 33, were the main contributors.

Lindon James was the pick of North Stars’ bowling, taking 4 for 37.

On Saturday, Sharps United registered a 69-run win over Somerset and Carlos James Troumaca Starlight defeated Petit Bordel Secondary School by 95 runs.

Sharps United had batted first and made 176 for 6 from 19 overs at the cut-off stage. Husani Porter hit 40 and Marquis Alexander 33.

Orlando Charles grabbed 4 for 47, bowling for Somerset. Only David Murray’s 33 was any score of note, as Somerset was dismissed for 107 in 13.3 overs.

Bowling for Sharps United, Desroy Samuel took 3 for 12 and Christopher Howe 3 for 29.

And Troumaca Starlight got up to 172 for 8 from their allotted 20 overs; Dorson Cottle made 39 not out.

Cklon McKie took 3 for 23 and Tevon Robertson, 2 for 31, bowling for the schoolboys.

Petit Bordel Secondary School were 77 all out, off 17.4 overs.

Kentis John had 3 for 6, Kishnell John 2 for 17, Donald Delpesche 2 for 15 and Zemron Providence 2 for 27.(RT)
