SVGFF Annual General Meeting postponed
Affiliates of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Football Federation will have to wait until a date in October to know of the financial health of their organization, get a detailed report of the stewardship of the executive over the past four years and, more so, elect a new executive.
This, after the Annual General Meeting, which had been set for this Saturday, September 26, was postponed.{{more}}
Acting general secretary of the SVGFF Devron Poyer indicated by way of a photoletter that the decision to put off the meeting was partly because the audited financial statements are not ready.
âThis has been done for a couple of reasons, mainly to grant affiliates ample time to peruse the Audited Statements when they are completed, also to facilitate the election process where nomination of officers is concerned,â Poyer wrote.
Prior to last Tuesdayâs official correspondence, word on the ground was that the AGM had been deferred. Additionally, one affiliate, Keith Duncan, had initially asked for the postponement, in light of the fact that the stipulated 21 days notice and the format of the agenda for the AGM which was sent to affiliates had not been adhered to.
Duncan noted that the secretariat had breached 10.3 and 10.8 of Article X of the SVGFFâs constitution. The current executive, led by Venold Coombs, was elected for a four-year term on September 24, 2011.(RT)
