Cavaliers overpower Queensbury in BCL all-Vincy showdown
A century by Shaquille Allick â 108 not out and Miles Bascombe â 40, powered Cavaliers to 208 for 5 in 20 overs last Sunday at Seaview in the 20/20 competition of the Brooklyn Cricket League.
But fellow Vincentian team Queensbury could not negotiate the bowling of Timothy Warner and Miles Bascombe, who grabbed three and two wickets respectively, to see them falling for 103 all out.{{more}}
Cavaliers, therefore, won by 105 runs and lengthened their unbeaten run in all forms of competition in the BCL this year.
Also on the losing end on Sunday at Marine Park C was another Vincy team, Middlesex, who succumbed to Janoon by 21 runs.
Janoon posted 156 for 7 from their 20 overs, led by Usman Yousuf, 51 and Rahim Khan, 40.
Bowling for Middlesex, Rod Michael had 3 for 21 and Dominic Audain 2 for 22.
In reply, Middlesex was stymied to 135 for 6 from their 20 overs. Alston Bacchus hit 52 and Dominic Audain, 33, but Middlesex could not cross the line.
Middlesex was looking to make it back-to-back wins, as on Saturday, at Seaview, they beat Miami Power by seven wickets. Miami Power got to 128 for 7 from their 20 overs. Bowling for Middlesex, Chandrapaul Roopnarine bagged 4 for 17 and Rod Michael, 2 for 34.
Middlesex then rushed to 131 for 3 in 10.4 overs; Rod Michael was 60 not out and Mark Audain, 32.(RT)
