The camp targets both sexes, who would, on a daily basis, be put through drills to enhance their football talents.
Carrington told SEARCHLIGHT that in addition, the camp will give the local coaching stock an opportunity to improve their technical abilities, as well as give them an insight on the processes involved in running a camp.
A release from the Foundation notes that the camp helps the participants âto learn to respect each other through fun and sharing … Itâs an important time to stimulate campersâ sense of responsibility and teach the importance and education to turn youths into amazing individuals, an experience, unforgettable moment with friends all playing soccer.â
Financial and other support for the camp has come from the St Vincent Co-operative Bank, Finishing and Furnishing, Eletto, LIME and the South Leeward Group.
Carrington is into his 27th year as head coach and is currently enlisted at Paul Riley Soccer School of excellence in New York. Previously he had coaching stints at St Francis College and Quinnipiac University, spanning a period of 17 years.
Carrington is a former technical director and head of the St Vincent and the Grenadines football senior team.(RT)
