The race, which began at the Peace Memorial Hall, took the cyclists to Murray’s Village, through an area called Big Yard and to the finish line at the school at McKies Hill.

Delano Wilson was the first to complete the distance and was also the lone cyclist with a mountain bike.

Finishing second overall and first in the BMX category was Kimani King.

Expressing contentment in getting to “race” was Wilson who told SEARCHLIGHT that he usually goes on fun rides with his friends on Sundays, to different past of the island.

Revealing that he has been cycling regularly since 2009, Wilson, however, wants more opportunities to show off his wares in more races.

The Intermediate High School is set for a training programme under the guidance of the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union. The programme rides off in the first term of the 2015 – 2016 academic year and is geared for participation from both males and females.
