Kiddy Cricket welcomes second batch for camp
Sixty young cricketers who have captured the eyes of the facilitators of the Scotia Bank Kiddy Cricket programme will get their skills fine-tuned from next Monday, August 4 to Friday, August 8, in a five-day camp session at the Arnos Vale Playing Field.{{more}}
This is the second occasion on which such a camp will be held.
The five-day camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, but commences on Monday with a formal opening ceremony.
The local co-ordinator of the Kiddy Cricket programme Stanley Hinds said there will be both on field and classroom sessions for boys and girls.
Hinds told SEARCHLIGHT that the areas to be covered during the camp include the basic rudiments of the game, nutrition, injury prevention, personal hygiene and development, the use of illegal substances and the laws of the game.
He noted that each session will begin with devotions, along with some pastoral care.
Facilitators for the camp include Stanley Hinds, Uzzah Pope, William âBillâ Edwards, Ian Allen, Bertram Stapleton, as well as personnel from the Ministry of Health and the Environment, and the Royal St Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force.
Among the 60 selectees are Thia Moses, Omarion Ottley, Dilon Bristol, Jaron Daisley, Fayan John, Reshawn Hebbert, Alex Hadaway, Jonal Forde, Javel Dodds, Kishorn Browne, Eron Michael, Ronique Bowens, Zonique Patterson, Orian Velox, Riyique Toney, Deshawn Cordice, Nicarta Martin, Devanta Mc Dowall, Donica De Souza and Kelroy Caine.
Also selected are Keyon Mc Millan, Leo De Freitas, Shemore Baptiste, Keodon Hackshaw, Kyle Nimblett, Akila Shallow, Deroj Williams, Kyle Williams, Shamar Conliffe, Shafia Franklyn, Jenna Fredericks, Darron Stephens, Anthony Browne, Kyronique Philips, Jaemuri Charles, Luke Wilson, Jason Williams, Melisia Sutherland, Tevron Olliver, Jessica Browne, as well as Denzil Francois and Mario Alexander.
