Zefal Bailey takes 34-miler keep-fit race
Zefal Bailey revelled last Sunday afternoon in a 34-miler road race, as the St Vincent and the Grenadines Cycling Union kept its cyclists engaged.{{more}}
Bailey took one hour 40 minutes 17.47 seconds to complete the four-lap event, which took the cyclists from North Union to Georgetown.
He was trailed by Peter Durrant, who clocked one hour 42 minutes 15.10 seconds, to put win number 10 under his belt in the veterans or Over 40âs category.
Third overall, and second in the Under-40 category was Lucky Antrobus in a time of one hour 46 minutes 4.10 seconds.
Next to cross the finish line was Orel George in a time of one hour 53 minutes 55.12 seconds. George was the fourth to complete the circuit, pouching the second place in the Over-40âs segment. George was followed by Martin Bollers in one hour 54 minutes 0.01 seconds to take the third place among the Over-40âs.
The other cyclist in the road bike category was Desmond Cox, the sixth overall finisher and third in the Under-40âs. Coxâs time was one hour 58 minutes 01.12 seconds.
And, the lone entrant in the mountain bike category, Shawn Chandler, recorded a time of one hour 36 minutes 15.09 seconds. He, however, was required to do 25 miles or three laps of the circuit. (RT)
