Police Two, Saints tie at the bottom
The Executive of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Cricket Association will have to decide which team will be relegated to the First Division of next yearâs national Cricket Competition.{{more}}
This, after Police Two and Eat Rite Saints ended on 28 points in this yearâs RBTT Premier Division.
In the last fixture of that division played last weekend at the Sion Hill Playing Field, Irie Travel Packers gained first innings points over the lawmen in a rain affected match.
Mc Neil Morgan was the top scorer with 36, in Packersâ 89. Mohammed Lavia with 5 for 15 was Policeâs most successful bowler.
Police Two was bowled out for 70. Javon Samuel had a five wicket haul, 5 for 26, Federal Jeffrey 2 for 4 and Devon Charles 2 for 18, to leave Police to come away with only four points, not enough to tow them past Saints.
There was a shared championship with the News Spartans and AOL Boutique Radcliffe both finishing at the top of the eight team race on 70 points each. MVC Rivals was third on 53 points. Packers docked in fourth with 45. Victors One followed on 36 and Victors Two on 32, to stay clear of the relegation decision.
Bottlers First Division ASCO One has booked their place in the final, but their opponents are still to be decided.
Playing at the Stubbs Playing Field, ASCO One batted first and made 111. The St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards Under-15 fast bowler, Shaquille Browne took 4 for 17, Gabriel Kirby 3 for 18, and Kendall Hinds 2 for 15, shared the bowlers honours for the Neil Williams Academy.
Responding, the Academy fell short by 18 runs, as they were dismissed for 93. Ray Charles was the topscorer with 26 and Browne made 20.
Andre Hunte 3 for 19, Vernardo Primus 3 for 27, Kimani Thomas 2 for 18 and Darren Greaves 2 for 24, teamed up to bowl their team to first innings points and a berth in the final.
ASCO One was 52 for 3, batting a second time, with Browne accounting for all three wickets that fell for the cost of seven runs.
The other semi final played at the Arnos Vale Two Playing Field was affected by rain and there was a no decision.
North Leeward scored 139. Left handed opening batsman Omar Tucker piloted North Leewardâs recovery with a patient 53. Kishore Lewis made 23. Gerald Gould took 4 for 29 and Wendell Corridon 3 for 28, bowling for Police One, who reached 127 for 2. (RT)
