Bequia on a roll
Bequia Combined made it two in a row last weekend in the National Lotteries Authority Neil Williams competition.
In back to back matches on Saturday at the Arnos Vale Playing Field, Bequia took out the Digicel Neil Williams Academy, then did likewise to ASCO.{{more}}
St. Vincent and the Grenadines opening batsman Salvan Browne hit 85 not out, with six fours and five sixes and Shem Browne, 46, laced with two fours and four sixes, as Bequia reached 153 for 1 in 12 overs, reduced due to rain.
The Academy was restricted to 53 for 8 in their 12 overs.
Shem Browne got 3 for 5, and Gavin Ollivierre, 2 for 8.
ASCO made 135 for 6 in their 20 overs. Desron Maloney struck 65 not out, littered with three fours and two sixes.
Salvan Browne was at it again with 62 not out, his third consecutive half century. Six fours and two sixes decorated his innings. Orlanzo Billingy with six fours made 37 not out.
Victors Two made 95 in 17 overs. Javed Harry struck 49. He blasted three fours and two sixes. Rolando Wright, 3 for 29, and Kenroy Martin, 2 for 10, were the main wicket takers for Police, who played with a numerical disadvantage, replied with 68. Martin made 24, as Andy Harper took 2 for 11.
Ruddyâs Electrical Unique Warriors was routed for 44. Marvin Small, 2 for 1, Casmond Walters, 2 for 5, and Collin Shoy, 2 for 9, did the damage for Rivals, who raced 48 for one. Hyron Shallow, 30 not out.
ECGC Radcliffe responding to ASCOâs paltry 26 scored 27 without loss.
And, Saints beat North Leeward by 15 runs. Saints 109 in 20 overs. For Saints, St. Clair Dickson made 27, Felix Greaves, 23. There were batsmen who went by the run out route. North Leeward, in reply, stopped at 95 in 18 overs. National Under-19 player Ronjel Small lashed 52, punctuated with four fours and three sixes. Kenroy Lewis made 21. Veteran player Walford bagged 5 for 7. (RT)
